Credit for this idea and instructions on how to do it goes to the book "The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks" by Lin Wellford.
I know, It's blurry (my camera has a problem...), but anyway, It is a cat done in acryllic paints with a paint brush that was a little too big for my liking, and painted on a rock. The coloring of the cat is based on the character Cassandra from the musical CATS. It was a little annoying to do the fur on its back bacause I had to dip the brush back in the paint between EVERY stroke (cheap paintbrush...), and I was using paint that is a few years old, so I had a limited supply of colors. Anyhow, my goal is to make a rock-cat for each of the characters in CATS, the musical (one of these years...). |
